Kathie Bishop | Outreach and Community
For Kathie, art began as a child, with the encouragement of her artist mother. Growing up in California, she has been inspired by oceans, marine life, and gardens. Her art is also deeply influenced by the people and cultures within the refugee communities in San Diego County.
Kathie has traveled around the U.S. and internationally. For five years she volunteered teaching English as a foreign language. She also taught art journaling to disabled adults.
After retirement, Kathie returned to art as a faith-based vocation. She creates greeting cards, volunteers at local art galleries, and enjoys reaching out to her community through art.

Artist Statement
Art is worship
Art for me, is a celebration of God's creation. To paint, is to be aware of His presence in my life. Worship is an inspired result of that awareness.
Art is Compassion
As a faith-based artist, I endeavor to reach out to people in relation to their personal experiences and emotions.
Art is communication
Art is expression that communicates beyond language or culture. It encourages thoughtful dialogue, meaning and understanding.
Your new art is waiting.
