Grace Commons | Advent 2024
The celebration of Advent is possible only to those who are troubled in soul, who know themselves to be poor and imperfect, and who look forward to something greater to come.
-Dietrich Bonhoeffer
The Advent season reminds us to be present to the waiting, actively waiting, and sitting in the tension of waiting. We celebrate that Jesus came to earth in a human form, He changed everything when He conquered death and made possible an intimate relationship with God. . . but we are also waiting for what He is GOING TO DO when He comes again, when He redeems all. We are in the middle, not the beginning or the end, of the redemption story. And while waiting can sometimes sound like a four letter word, this season is not without hope. It is a beautiful invitation to rest our troubled souls in the peace offered in Christ, hoping for what is to come because we know what has already been done.
Christos Christmas Gifts
Looking for something special and unique to give to friends and loved ones? Look no further! We have books, print products, commissions, original art, and even art lessons. Support artists this Christmas by purchasing gifts from Christos Artists.
The commission of an artist is to enrich a culture starving for spiritual enlightenment for generations to come.
The artist is not born to a life of leisure. He must work hard to perform and never live idle. Artists who sacrifice their own well-being in order to purchase art materials and focus on their artwork is often considered a “starving artist.”
When living on minimal income one may shortchange their diet, home environment and appearance because all their disposable income goes toward art projects.
Not many artists are fortunate to enter the field of visual art at a high level because the barriers to success are so complex that the time needed would take away from making art and family responsibilities.
Numerous artists settle for voluntary poverty for the sake of their passion for art. This unconventional way of life is embraced by artists as “the way it is,” even though the starving artist trope does not really help the image of the artist. It dis-empowers them trying to promote their work and stifles the fervor to pursue their dreams for fear of economic survival.
As you prepare your taxes many of you assess your tithing and determine if you have some funds left to donate. With so many needy organizations working for the Kingdom of God, it may be hard to choose who to support.
Christos Collective knows that we are not in your first thoughts, but we are a ministry in need.
For nine years we have been cultivating artists who feel called by God to dedicate their time and resources to make works of art that bring hearts closer to Him.
Christos artists have exhibited at Christian Churches and University with great success for the venues, but limited, if any sales, for the artists. We love to serve in this capacity, but must find ways to fund the efforts.
PLEASE consider supporting Christos Collective in our unique and silent ministry to financially support our artists, and grace the public with art that serves the Kingdom of God.

A Sampling of what Christos Artists do:
Christos Collective’s main mission is to cultivate artists of Christian faith to embrace their vocation as ambassadors of the Holy Spirit, and impact culture through their art and art practice.
We do this through the Artist Cultivation Program where artists meet in community to set individual goals towards growth and excellence in spiritually, artistry, and professionalism. Our vision is that God’s benevolent presence is powerfully known and welcome in arts and culture everywhere.
